Hotting. Hij was van beroep korporaal-timmerman bij de Koninklijke Marine en lid van de Gereformeerde Kerk. Omdat hij op zee omkwam, heeft hij geen graf \u2014 hij wordt herdacht bij het Karel Doorman-monument op het ereveld Kembang Koening te Soerabaja, het gedenkteken voor alle op zee omgekomen opvarenden.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zijn halfzus A. Meerdere Nederlandse marineschepen gingen in de dagen rond deze slag verloren, met honderden slachtoffers. Abraham Cornelis Hotting, opvarende van Zijner Majesteits &#8216;Java&#8217;, kwam op 27 februari 1942 zelf om bij de ondergang van dit schip tijdens de
